The Hornet-03G is the heaviest knife in the Hornet lineup at 4.65 oz — and G10 handle scales are a significant reason why. G10 is denser than micarta at comparable thickness, which means the 03G has more mass in hand than its siblings. That weight is not a liability. It's what makes this the most tool-like Hornet in the series — planted, stable, confidence-inspiring under load.

G10 fiberglass laminate doesn't flex, doesn't absorb moisture, and holds its aggressive surface texture indefinitely. In wet conditions, cold conditions, or gloved hands it performs without adjustment. Stonewash blade finish is the logical pairing — practical, durable, no visual excess. 14C28N Sandvik at 58-60 HRC holds a working edge through extended daily use and sharpens without specialist equipment.
