The Gecko-YCS sits at the top of the Gecko lineup in every sense — material, finish, price, and rarity. Ceramic carbon fiber handle scales are not a standard production material. The ceramic layer adds surface hardness and a visual depth that standard carbon fiber can't achieve — it catches light differently, holds its finish longer, and has a tactile quality that distinguishes it immediately from anything in the mid-range.
The blade is M390, Böhler's flagship powder metallurgy steel. At 60±2 HRC it delivers edge retention that significantly outpaces steels like 14C28N or N690 — this is the steel specified when performance over time matters more than cost. The pearl and satin finish is a combination treatment: pearl gives the flat of the blade a soft iridescent quality, satin on the bevel keeps the cutting geometry clean and precise. Together they make the blade as visually considered as the handle.
Drop point geometry, 3.4'' blade, 3.95 oz total. Liner lock, ceramic ball bearing pivot. A knife that carries daily but belongs in a different category than daily carry knives — the kind of object you notice every time you take it out of your pocket, not because it demands attention, but because it earns it.
